We are happy to offer you access to more information from home. Here is a list of all our new databases. Note: Ancestry Library Edition does not permit access from home. Patrons must obtain access from within the library.

Ancestry – Genealogy enthusiasts will appreciate this database.  Access census and vital records, immigration records, military records, family histories, historical maps, etc. Patrons must be inside the library to gain access.

Chilton Library– Provides quick online access to repair, maintenance and service information on seven decades of the broadest range of vehicles available, including cars, trucks, vans and SUVs and supplies a solution for the “do-it-yourselfer” that is easy to use no matter the skill level. This database is updated on a monthly basis, ensuring the most advanced and up-to-date information available.

Culture Grams – Concise, reliable, and up-to-date reports on more than 200 countries, each U.S. state, and all 13 Canadian provinces and territories. Please call the library, 812-988-2850 to obtain your username and password.

INSPIRE -Indiana’s virtual online library, a free resource for Indiana residents. INSPIRE is a collection of online academic databases and other information resources, including full-text magazine and journal articles, websites, pamphlets, images, almanacs, full-text historic newspapers, multimedia, library catalogs, and much more. In most cases, INSPIRE provides cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts of all articles that appear in every periodical with the exception of some newspapers. Only letters to the editor, advertisements, and some images are excluded for copyright reasons.

Indiana Legal Forms – Provides access to thousands of customizable online legal documents. Spanning a variety of common concerns (bankruptcy, divorce, employment, landlord tenant, living wills, power of attorney, taxes, etc.). Legal definition and attorney directories are also available. Completed sample forms are also included.

Mango Languages -Mango is an online language-learning system that can help you learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian and more. Either click on the Start Learning button at the top to begin or Create a Profile on the right-side screen to keep track of your learning.

Newspapers.com World Collection – This extensive database that provides online access to 3,000+ historical newspapers. Dating from the early 1700s into the early 2000s, Newspapers.com  contains full runs and portions of runs of well-known, regional and state titles to small local newspapers in the United States and other countries.

NoveList Plus – This premiere database is a comprehensive source of information about books that includes expert recommendations for both fiction and nonfiction, for all ages. NoveList provides reviews, articles, lists, series information, read-alikes and more.

TumbleBook Library -TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books) includes fiction, non-fiction and foreign language titles, Math Stories, Read-Alongs (chapter books with sentence highlighting and narration but no animation), Videos (from National Geographics), TumbleTV which consists of pre-set playlists of a sequence of books and Tumble Puzzles & Games. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which we have licensed from children’s book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.

World Book Online – A suite of seven databases geared toward specific age ranges and abilities, from the youngest learners to adults. Complete with illustrations and pictures, maps, audio files, videos, games, research tools, ebooks, activities, educator tools, primary source documents, and more.

Writer’s Reference Center – A conceptual and practical guide to the writing process with over 92,000 definitions. A wealth of essays covering grammar, style, research, and more presented in an easy-to-use- format.
