The first book the Mystery Book Club will be reading is The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. A fast moving, suspense novel that begins with Anne and Marco Conti’s decision to attend a party next door, even after their babysitter cancels. Anne has been suffering from postpartum depression since her daughter Cora was born, so Marco persuades her to attend the party. Returning home, they discover that Cora is missing from her crib! The detective investigating the case, suspects the parents and discovers that no one is telling the truth. A fast-speed story highlighting lies, betrayals and secrets between husbands and wives!
