2020 Rewind Reading Challenge
Since 2020 was such a crazy year and many of you were unable to complete the 2020 Reading Challenge, we are giving you a chance to do it all again!
Download a new Reading Log or request one for Curbside Pick-up and get ready to enjoy a new year of reading.
CHALLENGES THAT RUN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR:
- Read 12 short stories, one per month.
- Read books being made into movies or TV series in 2020: At least 4; may need to use Interlibrary Loan.
- Read 6 historical fiction books, any time during the year.
- Read 6 memoirs, any time during the year.
MONTHLY CHALLENGES:
- January: Read four cozy mysteries.
- February: Read a book for at least four of the continents, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Africa.
- March: Read four books by new authors (newly published).
- April: Read four books authored by (or featuring) different minority groups.
- May: Read four books featuring a cat or a dog
- June: Read four books containing phrases or other copy in different foreign languages. Write a phrase you learned from each language.
- July: Read four Newbery Award winning books.
- August: Read four books published during the decade of your birth
- September: Read 8 picture books. (JP)
- October: Read a series containing at least 4 books.
- November: Read one book for each of the following key words: mother, father, sister, brother.
- December: Read four books published in 2020.
Please note: All types of books are good for the challenges: Adult, YA, Juvenile, Mid Grade. E-books and audiobooks are also appropriate.
As you complete each month’s challenge, bring in your reading log to receive a reward. Please turn in your final book log by December 17, 2021 and register for the wrap up party to be held in January 2022.
