The Library is Going Solar!
You may have heard that big things will be happening soon at the Library! Work on the Library’s solar panel installation is expected to begin mid-November of this year. The two carport-style solar arrays will be installed in the lower level parking lot and will reduce the Library’s electricity bill by 90%. The Solar Project is the largest capital project the Library has taken on since the construction of our current building in 2001. This is an investment in the future of our Library, Brown County and our environment.
Interested in helping out? The Friends of the Library is working to raise $65,000 towards the solar project. Just $200 buys a solar panel — and we need 324! Your donations will go to help pay for the 324 solar panels needed to complete the arrays. Learn more about our solar project or make a donation and help the Library go Solar by ’22!
Details on upcoming changes will be posted on Facebook and Instagram, or you can check back here or give us a call at 812.988.2850.
