Connections for Caregivers: Adult caretaker resource fair

November is National Family Caregivers Month, and the Brown County Public Library is honoring those who are taking care of others by hosting Connections for Caregivers: Adult Caretaker Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 12 from 10 am – 1 pm. Aimed at educating, raising awareness, and providing support resources for our community’s adult caregivers, the event will feature speakers from Indiana Dementia Friends; Our Hospice; Voelz, Reed and Mount attorneys at law; and Access-Ability. Booths from various organizations that serve those in need of care will help bring the information and contacts together in one place.
Family members are the main support system for older adults and people with disabilities. Often those caregivers juggle their own jobs and home lives, in addition to caring for another adult. While caretaking can be rewarding, it can also take a toll on our emotions, physical wellbeing, and finances. We encourage anyone responsible for the care of another adult or disabled individual to take a little time for themselves and learn about the tools available to help make your caretaking journey easier.
Connections for Caregivers opens to the public at 10:00 am for browsing, presentations begin at 10:30 am, and the event ends at 1:00 pm. A complete schedule of the day’s events is available on our website. Walk-ins are always welcome; however, an RSVP is helpful and can be made by calling the Library at 812.988.2850 or online at BrownCountyLibrary.info/events.
The Brown County Public Library is a Level II Dementia Friendly Certified library.
